The 2026 Mini-THON at Rotary Field was filled with energy, smiles, teamwork, and a whole lot of heart — all for an incredible cause. Through games, activities, dancing, and fundraising efforts, our students, staff, and community came together to raise an amazing $13,175.72 for Four Diamonds! 🎗️
Every dollar raised helps support children and families battling pediatric cancer, reminding us what it truly means to stand together For The Kids.
We are so proud of everyone who helped make today unforgettable. Thank you to our students, advisors, volunteers, staff, families, and community supporters for showing what Hurricane pride is all about.
Together, we made a difference. 💙💛

Mr. Pearson’s 7th Grade Science students are diving into their study of anatomy—literally! This week, classrooms turned into labs as students took part in frog dissections, getting an up-close look at the complex systems that keep living organisms functioning.
From identifying organs to making real-world connections, this experience brings science to life in a way textbooks simply can’t match. It’s not every day you get to explore biology in such a ribbiting way!
Great work to our students for their focus, curiosity, and willingness to jump right in! 👏
MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL BUS 12 students will go home with Bus 13 Students.
This could cause delays tp arrival home times during afternoon runs.
🎶👏 A round of applause for the Schuylkill Haven Area School District! 👏🎶
We are proud to be recognized as a #BestCommunitiesforMusicEducation by @nammfoundation! This prestigious honor is a true reflection of the passion, dedication, and talent of our students, along with the unwavering support of our educators, administrators, and community.
A special shoutout to our incredible music educators—Ms. Biggs, Mrs. Capella, and Mrs. Houtz—for inspiring our students and helping make this achievement possible. 💙💛
From the first note to the final performance, music continues to play a vital role in shaping the Hurricane experience—and this recognition hits all the right notes. 🎼

The day kicked off at Art of Escape, where students put their critical thinking and collaboration skills to the test as they worked together to solve puzzles and beat the clock in exciting escape room challenges. Next, the group headed to Swatara State Park for a hands-on fossil dig experience. Students became young paleontologists, uncovering pieces of the past while enjoying a picnic lunch in the great outdoors. To wrap up the day, students explored the beauty of Sweet Arrow Lake County Park, hiking to the scenic waterfalls and taking in the sights and sounds of nature.
It was a day filled with problem-solving, exploration, and fun—an experience our SHAMS students won’t soon forget! 🌿🧩💧

After sharing a request on our Facebook and Instagram pages for Valentine’s cards, we were amazed by the response. Our students received heartfelt messages and thoughtful gifts from participants across 21 states and 5 continents. Each delivery brought excitement, curiosity, and plenty of smiles!
As the cards arrived, students actively tracked each location on a map of the United States and began adding countries from around the world. This hands-on activity not only built geography skills, but also created a powerful visual of just how far love and kindness can travel.
Through this experience, our students saw firsthand that simple acts of kindness can connect people across cities, states, and even continents. The “Hearts Around the World” challenge became more than just a project—it was a meaningful reminder of the goodness that exists in our world.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who took the time to send a card, gift, or message. Your kindness made a lasting impact on our students and helped spread joy! Thank you for being part of this special experience! 💕
