Middle School Achieve is spreading holiday cheer in the sweetest ways! Our students “CANE’d” faculty and staff by surprising them with a candy cane and a kind note to brighten their day. They also created heartfelt holiday cards for local nursing home residents, sharing joy and connection beyond our school walls. December means a whole month of fun dress days to countdown to the winter holidays! We must have been in tune with Mother Nature when we planned boot day for tomorrow!

The Schuylkill Haven Area Middle School chorus members were invited to perform musical selections at the 275th Community Celebration of Thanksgiving at St. Ambrose Church on Sunday, November 16th.
SHAMS Chorus members sang three selections and enjoyed hearing the Combined Choirs of Grace Evangelical, Jerusalem Lutheran, St. Ambrose RC, and St. Mark’s UCC, the organist, pianist, flautist and St. Mark’s UCC Handbell choir perform. The chorus is grateful for the opportunity to sing for our Schuylkill Haven Community.
Chorus members and families who stayed for the entire service were gifted beautiful Christmas Ornaments commemorating the celebration. Thank you to the 275th Anniversary Committee for organizing this special event!

Mr. Dean’s 7th Grade Guidance class took part in a live zoom with the Dallas Cowboys and Medal of Honor Griffin Institute. They had a live discussion via Zoom with Arizona Cardinals LB JJ Russell, New York Giants TE Chris Manhertz, Dallas Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys Cheer Leader Brooklyn Davis and Vietnam Vet and Medal of Honor Recipient Jim McCloughan.
This event was held through the Everfi program, and is sponsored by the NFL. It teaches students how to establish and maintain healthy, supportive relationships with their classmates. Students engage in true-to-life scenarios that explore the fundamentals of communication, conflict resolution, and managing emotions. EVERFI partnered with the National Medal of Honor Griffin Institute to enhance the course by adding three videos focused on the values of courage, commitment, and integrity to help guide students in their decision-making and choices.
