Rainbow Trout Eggs have once again returned to Mrs. Schwenk's room as part of the PA Fish and Boat Commission's PA Trout in the Classroom Program, an interdisciplinary environmental program that examines impacts, management, and protection of PA's watersheds and coldwater resources. The eggs will be raised from eggs to fingerlings and then released in April during the annual Trout Release and Environment Day. Trout Committee Officers Blake Rossi, Matt Angelo, Cali Stank and Alyvia Trostle are seen assisting with acclimating the eggs to the egg baskets in their temporary 50 gallon aquarium home. Chris George and Allie Benulis are also officers. Trout Committee members from all grade levels will be assisting with the care of the aquarium and eggs during the next few months.

After a difficult day on the course, the Hurricanes came up a little short of their District Championship team goal. Although the outcome was disappointing, the Hurricanes had an incredible season, and have a bright future. On the individual level, Talan Spittler completed a tough round in 6th place, earning a trip to the State Championships at Penn State! Congratulations Talan!

Our Lady Canes Volleyball team is having their second theme night tonight, Monday, September 25 and the theme will be Hawaiian/ Luau. The JV game starts at 5:30pm which means varsity will start somewhere around 6:30pm; all games will be played in the CACL Center.

The National Weather Service has just issued a Hurricane Warning...for the Schuylkill League Championships . The Hurricanes completed their regular season with a record of 12-0! The Hurricanes will be back in action on Monday. Stay tuned for league championship results!

Outreach Club hosted the first social event of the 2023-2024 school year this morning, pancakes all around! Outreach Club is a faith-based club open to all students at Schuylkill Haven Area High School. The club focuses on community service and offers opportunities throughout the school year to accumulate the required 48 community service hours needed for graduation. The Outreach Club leadership team provides student led devotional time twice a month and we regularly meet to discuss any social or service events that are in the works. If you want more information you can talk to Mrs. Freiler or Mrs. Frank! We look forward a year full of service, fun, and growing together as a community!
